Schedule: We are currently hiring for Day, Evening, Weekend, and Part-Time shifts.

Evening and weekend team members may be eligible for shift premiums or bonuses.

Compensation: Starting at $20/hour

Location: Central Saanich, BC

Ability to commute/relocate: Victoria, BC V8M 0B3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

About Us

Level Ground is a Fair Trade organization established in 1997. Our mission is to trade fairly and directly with small-scale producers in developing countries and to market their products in North America, offering our customers ethical consumer choices. 

We import coffee, tea, dried fruit, and cane sugar from small-scale producers in Colombia, Honduras, Peru, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, D.R. Congo, India, & more. Our products are sold through a network of grocery stores, health stores, cafés, and non-profit organizations.

Our Team

Level Ground’s Roastery team is a co-operative, communicative, forward-thinking, and positive environment where quality, consistency, and teamwork matter. The team is responsible for roasting, packaging, and preparing delicious coffee that reflects our values and our producers’ work.

Job Overview

The primary deliverables of the position are:

  • Operating commercial coffee roasting equipment
  • Operating packaging and labeling equipment
  • Cleaning and maintaining roasting, packaging, and processing areas
  • Preparing orders and supporting production workflows
  • Completing other duties as required to support the Roastery and Operations teams

 Desired Assets

The ideal candidate would have the following skills, abilities and experience:

  • Valid Food Safe certificate (can be attained during employment)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lb
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, determination, and adaptability
  • Reliable team player who enjoys smiling, listening, and contributing to a positive work environment
  • Growth and learning mindset
  • Availability for evening and/or weekend shifts is considered a strong asset
